Resolutions...

Okay so I haven't posted in a while... and there may or may not be a good reason for that, depending on whether you regard being too busy to post a good enough excuse....

Anyway, it's the last day of 2014, and as the New Year is upon us, I've decided to make some resolutions (probably the most cliche thing in the entire world, but we all make them...) and hopefully for the first time in forever, I'll stick to them...

1. Blog, blog, blog!

2. Make the most of my last few months in sixth form...
3. Stop overthinking and worrying, and just going with the flow...
4. Writing good memories down! I keep a journal, but much like this blog, it's been neglected recently...
5. And finally, take lots and lots of pictures!

One of the things I love most about a new year is the fact it brings the essence of a clean slate, a fresh start, a new beginning...

Things don't always go to plan, and although my 2014 had its ups and downs, it's important to solely focus on the positives, which is why I plan to go into 2015 with gratitude for all the positives 2014 brought...

I hope you had a wonderful 2014 and have an even better 2015!

Collective Haul | Part 2

Continuing with this collective haul, I have purchased even more products recently!

I am a massive Lush lover, every time I go to Liverpool I can never resist going in to the shop, and I never leave empty handed... I'm not sure if its the indulgent fragrances, or the sheer excitement of watching an effervescent explosion in your bath that draws me to Lush, but whatever the reason, I can't get enough!

Seeing as it was almost Bonfire Night when I bought these products, I took the opportunity to buy a Bonfire Night inspired bath bomb; the Sparkler. It's Rose Jam scented, and smells absolutely amazing and soothing. It's also laden with micro-glitter, which ties together the "sparkler" theme of this bath bomb. Luckily the glitter doesn't stay on your skin and remains in the bath, meaning you don't emerge looking like a sparkler yourself!

The Sparkler bath bomb

The second thing I bought from Lush was the Lord of Misrule bath bomb, although I haven't actually used it yet! However, the Lush website describes it as "hypnotic swirling silver luster is released and the deep green exterior soon gives way to a rich, wine-colored center" which sounds absolutely magical! There's also popping candy in it, and I am beyond excited to get a bath with this beauty!

The Lord of Misrule bath bomb

YouTuber and blogger Zoella, who you can find here (YouTube) and here (Blog) recently released a range of various beauty products, appropriately named Zoella Beauty. I am a massive fan of Zoe, and fangirled slightly when her range was released... it was only a matter of time before I picked up a few of her products!

The first thing I was sold on was the candle, cutely named "Let's Glow". Candles are one of my most favourite things in the world, I'm forever burning them! It has a very calming scent, with white wood, vanilla and floral tones, and I simply love it!

I also bought the Creamly, Madly, Dreamy body lotion, which has a similar scent to the candle. It's very indulgent, and leaves your skin feeling silky soft and smelling simply lovely. Another thing I love about these products are the packaging! It's adorable and cute, and the shiny gold writing makes them appear extra special!

The next two products are things I'm very excited about... The first being a dry shampoo by COLAB. These dry shampoo's are new on the shelves, and being a fan of the Batiste dry shampoo's, I decided to give them a go. I bought a large can in the scent Rio, a tropical fragrance, which smells amazing! These dry shampoo's, unlike many others, don't leave that chalky white residue on your hair, nor do they flake and make you look like you have severe dandruff (I've tried products that have done this, and it doesn't look great...). All in all, I love it, and will definitely be purchasing more in different scents!

Finally, a product that I've wanted to try for a while, is the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water. I read about this product on my friend Alice's blog, which you can find here (it's an amazing blog - go check it out!), and knew I had to try it! I was fed up of using my Body Shop Cleansing Oil on a daily basis, and I felt that using facial wipes wasn't benefiting my skin at all. A change was needed in my skincare routine, and I'm so happy with the results!
It removes all of my makeup in a few swift sweeps across my face, and my skin has cleared up dramatically since using it. My skin feels instantly refreshed and clean, and I'm simply in love with it!

That's all for my collective haul! What products have you bought recently that you love? Leave a comment and let me know!

Halloween Movie Night!

Last Friday it was Halloween, and instead of sitting around doing nothing like I did last year, I decided to have a small get together with a few of my friends.
Instead of having a normal move night, most of us made the decision to make the most of Halloween and dress up (except for Cat!).

We ended up watching "You're Next" which was actually more funny than scary, which I was very pleased about because I am terrified or horror films!

Pizza was eaten, more films were watched, and it was a great night!

Collective Haul | Part 1

Recently, all I've done is shop... I'm not normally a massive shopper and only purchase things every now and then, however in the past month I have bought a lot! Seeing as there are quite a few purchases I would like to share, I've decided to split this collective haul into two parts.

The first things I bought were Baby Lips! I've already got several, but since the electro range was released, I got two in the shades 'Pink Shock' and 'Strike A Rose'. They're both amazing colours and are so soft!

I also decided to try out the Revlon Colourburst Lip Butters, and I can honestly say that I'm in love with them! I bought three in the shades 'Sorbet', 'Wild Watermelon' and 'Sweet Tart'.
The colours are really highly pigmented and pretty much stain your lips so you only need to reapply it twice or three times a day. At £8 each they're slightly on the pricey side and you don't get much in them, but I would definitely recommend them due to their quality.

I've already got the Real Techniques Core Collection makeup brushes, and so decided to expand my collection and purchase the Starter Set for eyes. You get five brushes in the set, each with their own use. The brushes are great quality and help to apply the makeup effortlessly and precisely!

Deluxe crease brush, base shadow brush, brow brush, accent brush, fine liner brush

A sea salt spray is something I've been in need of for a while now, and so I decided to purchase Superdrugs own Style Expertise Salt Infusion Surf Spray. I haven't used it much recently due to 'beach hair' being more of a summer hairstyle, but I do like the results it gives when I do use it!

Mascaras are something I'm pretty fussy with, as a great mascara can enhance your eyes greatly whereas a poor one can leave your eyes looking 'spidery' and can essentially ruin your entire makeup... I've read some good reviews about the L'Oreal Paris Miss Manga mascara, and decided to give it a shot. It's simply amazing! It gives my lashes great volume, and makes them appear longer and fuller. It's hardly clumpy, and I just love it!

Finally, The Pointless Book! Anyone who knows anything about YouTubers and specifically Alfie Deyes, knows that Alfie released a book called The Pointless Book. It's similar to the Wreck My Journal books, but is interactive through a phone app which displays videos and exclusive content for certain pages. Its a lot of fun, and something that I'll definitely treasure and look back at in years to come.

Look out for Part 2 coming soon!

Best Weekend Ever!

Last weekend was literally the busiest weekend I've had since... well, forever! It was also the best weekend I've had in a long time, which is something that was definitely overdue, and something that brightened my mood greatly!

On Saturday, I ventured over to Liverpool for the day with my Mum and sister for some well-needed retail therapy! I spent most of my time in Forever21, after going to EAT for lunch. It was nice to get out for the day, although I'm not so sure my purse would agree!

That night, I was invited to an 18th party by my friend Farris and I took Connor along as a plus one. It was such a great night and I had an amazing time!

On Sunday, my family and I went for Sunday lunch before I headed off to my friend Kerri's 18th bowling and laser quest party! It was so much fun, and despite the fact I suck at bowling, I didn't come last for once! *three cheers for me* We then played a game of laser quest and were split into two teams. The red team got 547 points, whereas my team, the green team, got a massive 2,448 points! *does victory dance*
After some good food was eaten and many selfies were taken, it was time to go home and mentally prepare myself for sixth form the next day... yay...

Kerri's Surprise 18th!

Next weekend, one of my best friends, Kerri, is turning 18! To celebrate, a surprise birthday meal was organised by her Mum, and I can honestly say that when she walked through the restaurant doors, Kerri was definitely surprised!
We went to a Greek restaurant which was really nice, and the party consisted of Kerri and her family, as well as myself and my friends Alex, Emma and Joe. It was a lovely night, filled with laughter and good company!

(Apologies for the terrible picture quality - the front camera on an iPhone 4S and the dark don't go very well together...)

Weekly Summary | Back on Track

So I may have forgotten to post last week... Woops...
Since being back at sixth form I've been pretty busy, and pretty stressed too... Constantly studying and filling out UCAS forms; it's no surprise that I missed last weeks' summary (plus the fact that nothing particularly exciting is happening in my life right now...).

One thing I've realised these past two weeks, is that things change (and guys are idiots, but that's another story)... Sometimes you need to fight to oppose change, but other times you simply need to embrace and accept it, even when it's bad... I've also learned that not every loss is actually a loss, and is it possible that everything happens for a reason? I'm not sure about that, but I believe there are certain aspects of our life that we have no power over...

Being back at sixth form has it's ups and downs...
For starters, there's going to be a lot of pressure on me this year, as this is essentially the most important year of my education... Year 13 will literally determine whether I go to University or not, so it's safe to say that I'm going to be working my socks off! Something I'm really enjoying is the extra free periods on my timetable... Since dropping Spanish I've gained an extra six free periods a week, all of which I spend with my good friend Emma, and there's not a day in my week where I don't have a free!

Sorry for the lack of posting this week, and also for this ridiculously short weekly summary... Hopefully things will start to pick up soon and I'll actually have something to blog about!

Weekly Summary | Glasgow & Back to School

This week has been a busy one! Rather than rambling on in the intro up here, I'll just get right into it!

This Tuesday, myself and my two friends Hannah and Matty took a trip to Glasgow in Scotland... The University of Glasgow was having an open day, so we decided to venture up there to check it out... We travelled by train, and the journey took around four and a half hours. Once we got there, we checked into our hotel and explored a bit of the city. I met up with my friend Frazer who lives just outside Glasgow, and we wandered around town chatting, laughing and drinking IRN BRU... It was so nice to see him again after a year, even if it was for just a few hours... I had a great time, and can only hope that I'll be seeing him again some time soon...

Wednesday was the open day, and we made our way to the University. The campus was amazing and literally looked like Hogwarts! I really enjoyed the talks and tours as well, and had a good day! After the open day was over, we returned to the train station and left Glasgow... Four and a half hours later I was home, mentally preparing myself for returning to sixth form the following day...

Thursday was my first day back at sixth form, and my last ever first day back at high school... It was nice to be back and see all of my friends again, plus being the oldest in the entire school is pretty cool... But at the the same time, I wish summer lasted a little longer, and this is going be the hardest year of my life so far... Not to mention impending university applications and personal statements...

The August Playlist...

I think the title is pretty much self-explanatory, but I've listed the top songs I've been listening to on repeat throughout August, and the ones I've been loving all month long!

1. Different People - Biffy Clyro.... This is by far my favourite song this month, I'm obsessed with all things Biffy Clyro and I've actually been listening to their entire album "Opposites" non-stop!

2. Happy Little Pill - Troye Sivan.... Not the sort of song I would usually go for, but each time I play it, I fall a little bit more in love with it...

3. All of the Stars - Ed Sheeran.... After seeing TFIOS in July, this song has forever been stuck in my head, and listening to it brings back all the teary memories!

4. Just A Kiss - Lady Antebellum.... A very old, and much loved song, somehow my love for it was rekindled this summer, and I've constantly had it playing.

5. Wasted - Tiesto.... What can I say, a catchy song that reminds me of summer...

6. Best Day of My Life - American Authors.... A great feel-good song!

7. Classic - MKTO... Catchy, fun, and an all-round favourite song of mine.

8. Tenerife Sea - Ed Sheeran.... Something more calm for those cosy summer nights...

9. Light Me Up - Hunter Hayes.... This song simply reminds me of summer, and it's possibly my favourite from the Encore edition of Hunters self-titled album.

10. Already Home - A Great Big World.... Again, a more calm song with a deep meaning....

11. Touch - Troye Sivan..... To be honest, I love all of the songs from Troye's album TRXYE, but this one has got to be my favourite!

12. 19 You + Me - Dan + Shay.... I absolutely love anything country/pop, which is why I'm in love with Dan + Shay, and this song in particular reminds me of summer due to its summer and beach themes! Plus, any songs to do with summer romances melt my heart...

Weekly Summary | Alton Towers!

I can't believe summer is practically over!
This week was my last full week of the summer holidays, and gutted barely scratches the surface of how I'm feeling right now. In just a few days I'll be back at sixth form for my final year... *hides under duvets and refuses to come out*

On Tuesday, my family and I took a trip to Alton Towers, which for those of you who don't know, is a theme park in Staffordshire here in the UK.

I've only ever been to Alton Towers twice, once being a school trip, and the other time I had a broken leg... I've been terrified of rollercoasters since I was little, especially the massive ones, but being a teenager on a school trip, I didn't want to seem like a chicken... I went on TH13TEEN, which is a pretty standard rollercoaster other than the fact at one point the track free-falls, and then continues to go backwards... in the dark... Surprisingly I enjoyed it, and was next tempted to try Rita, which again is a pretty standard rollercoaster, but goes from 0 to 61mph in just 2.5 seconds... yeah, it's fast... The adrenaline rush I got after it was insane, and I literally bounced off the walls, so, me and my friend Alice went to queue for Air... for three hours... Air is a flying rollercoaster, and one I really loved! After that school trip, my fear of rollercoasters was eradicated!

This time, I was much more excited to go, and was determined to go on those same three rollercoasters again. Once we got there, my Mum decided to head over to Nemesis; something I was very reluctant about. Although I had gotten over my fear of rollercoasters, I hadn't yet faced my demons about going upside down... The very thought of it made my head spin and my stomach churn, and I was more than happy to sit and wait for her to go on it without me... Did I have a say in the matter? Of course not, I was going on it whether I liked it or not. Standing in the queue was torture, even if it was just for ten minutes. I lost count of how many times I wanted to turn back and run away, and once I was buckled into the seat, I genuinely thought I was going to die... (a bit dramatic but this was a big deal for me...) I can't believe I'm actually saying this, but I kept my eyes open for the entire ride (something I rarely do) and loved it! It wasn't half as bad as I thought it would be, and I even went on it again!

After going on Nemesis, we went on Air, TH13TEEN, and Rita, all of which I loved! We weren't quite sure what we were going to go on next, so we wandered around and found ourselves at the X-Sector. Located there, is a rollercoaster named The Smiler, which holds the world record for the most inversions... fourteen to be exact. Despite the fact I was no longer worried about going upside down, I was really terrified of going on it. Again, did I have a choice? Nope. After waiting in the queue for an hour, we were about ten minutes away from finally getting on, when the worst possible thing that could happen whilst waiting in the queue for a rollercoaster that goes upside down fourteen times, happened. There were 'technical difficulties' and the ride was delayed...

Picture me, standing in the queue, for something I really didn't want to be queuing for in the first place, add technical difficulties and what do you have? An emotional overreacting mess.
The rollercoaster was only delayed for ten minutes, but I was more reluctant than ever to go on it. However, I braved it, and fourteen loops and a vertical lift hill later I was still alive and I was buzzing. It was so amazing! It's definitely the best rollercoaster I've ever been on, and I genuinely wanted to get back in the queue and go on it again...

All in all, I had an awesome day, I conquered my fears, and laughed while doing so! It was a great way to end my summer, roll on Year 13!

What have you been up to this week? Leave a comment and let me know!

The Dreams Tag

Since doing my TMI Tag, I've constantly been looking for new tags to do, and stumbled across The Dreams Tag... Considering I'm almost constantly daydreaming, I thought it would be the perfect tag to do next!

1. What are you currently day dreaming about?

Something I often find myself day dreaming about, is my impending trip to Glasgow... I'm spending one night there in September, and as I'm travelling there with only two friends, it's kind of a first for me... I'm also meeting up with my friend Frazer who I've not seen in over a year, and I am beyond excited!
Another thing that I'm constantly daydreaming about, which I'm sure is the same for most teenage girls, is a bit of a cliché thing... a guy... and that's all I'm saying on the matter.

2. What three items live in your dream wardrobe?

The first thing that comes to mind, is a Mulberry Bayswater bag! My favourite colours are Poppy Red and Black. As they're extremely out of my price range, I think they're going to stay in my dream wardrobe rather than my actual one...
I'm not sure if this counts as a wardrobe item, but I'm just going to throw it in here anyway... The second thing is a Rose Gold Michael Kors watch. I'm loving all things rose gold at the minute, and the Michael Kors watches are amazing!
The third item, or items, are David and Goliath T-shirts. I absolutely love the witty slogans, and as you can never have too many T-shirts, I'm slightly obsessed... I've yet to purchase any, but hopefully in the near future I will!

3. Who is your dream celeb lookalike?

Now this is actually pretty tricky, because there are so many celebrities I wish I looked like... I'd probably say Amanda Seyfried...

4. In your eyes, who is currently "living the dream"?

Personally, I think no-one is living the dream... Even those multi-millionaire celebrities splashed across the TV and magazines who seem like they have it all; they have their own personal battles to face, and everyone's perception of a dream life is different. If you want to live the dream, then go out and live it.

5. What do you dream of more? Love or money?

As someone who has only one more year before heading off to University, money is a thing that's on my mind quite a lot... But, it's safe to say I dream of love a lot more.

6. Your dream holiday escape?

Definitely somewhere tropical, like The Maldives or Bora Bora. It's so serene there, and perfect for a relaxing get-away.

7. Who's your dream YouTuber collab?

I don't have a YouTube channel, but I do spend a heinous amount of time watching YouTubers. My dream collab would probably be with Louise Watson (Sprinkleofglitter), Dan Howell (danisnotonfire) or Tyler Oakley (Tyler).

8. Did your childhood dreams ever come true?

Considering I'm only 17, hardly, if any, of my childhood dreams have come true... One of my childhood dreams, which is still a big dream in my life today, is to live in my own beautifully decorated house... I obviously haven't achieved that yet, but still hope to one day.

9. If one of your dreams could come true right now, what would it be?

Now this is a tricky one... But, I guess it would be to be truly happy... Or to get accepted into the Uni I aspire to go to...

I hope you enjoyed this tag, I know I enjoyed writing it! Leave a comment letting me know what other tags I could do in the future, and let me know if you do the tag yourself!

Weekly Summary | Bookaholic Heaven

This week has honestly been the laziest week of my summer holidays so far.... Am I ashamed? Of course not!

I did, however, spend Tuesday with Connor (surprise surprise), as we had a movie day! Well, when I say movie day, I mean we pretty much chatted all day with a movie on in the background...

First there was Star Wars (which I will admit to never have seeing until now), but I pretty much gave up on that after quickly realising I didn't like it... Lets just say we cut that film short and moved on...

Next, was Star Trek Into Darkness, which is one of my absolute favourite films! That one stayed on until the very end, and even though I've seen it a million times (slight exaggeration but still...) and knew exactly what would happen, I was still on the verge of tears...
Despite my reluctancy to watch it, Connor then put The Inbetweeners on (another film I'd not seen), and although it wasn't quite as bad as I thought, we soon switched it off...
The closer it got to dinnertime, the hungrier we got... What did we do? Ordered Dominos of course! Thank God for Two for Tuesdays...
As it was my turn to chose a film, we watched The Perks of Being A Wallflower (guess what... another film I've never seen!) while eating our pizza, and I really enjoyed it! I think Connor did as well, and we managed to get through the whole film before it was time for our movie day to come to an end...

I've pretty much spent the rest of the week reading... And to be honest, I've been reading at the rate of a book a day...

On Wednesday, I read a book called The Story of Us by Dani Atkins... I genuinely can't put into words just how much I loved it. I read it cover to cover in just under five hours (five hours straight) and I swear I cried more than I did for The Fault In Our Stars... It centres around love and loss, and was simply a beautiful book - just go and read it!

iBooks often have selected offers and free books, and there were a couple of books that stood out to me in the free 'Teens: First in a Series' section... On Thursday, I started to read Dangerous Girls by Abigail Haas. I couldn't put it down. The plot was so gripping, and even just the thought of it still boggles my mind... There were amazing plot twists that I never saw coming, and they absolutely knocked me sideways as well as leaving me speechless... I'm reeling for more! Looks like I'll be buying Haas' next book, Dangerous Boys...
Earlier in the summer, I started to read Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson, however after only getting five chapters in, I found myself reading less and less and eventually neglecting the book altogether. However, as I've had time to sit down and enjoy it, on Friday I picked it up again and started from the beginning... It was the perfect summer read and as it was based on a 17 year old girl, I couldn't help but love the themes of summer romances and friendship, as well as the importance of family and taking chances.

Not a very interesting week, I know, but one of my favourite things to do is curl up in bed in the quiet and become engulfed into a book...

What have you been up to this week? Are you an avid reader like me? If so, let me know what books you've been loving recently in the comments!

Brit Summer...

When it wants to be, Great British summer weather can be glorious. The perfect way to spend it? At the beach!

A few weeks ago, myself, my sister and my Dad travelled down to Newquay in Cornwall. A six hour drive was something I certainly wasn't looking forward to, but after setting off at midnight and getting there in the early hours of the morning, I was excited to be getting away for another week!

My Auntie, Uncle and two cousins all live in Newquay, and kindly offered to put us up for the week (what were they thinking!?). It was so nice to see them, as living six hours away from each other with commitments such as school and work means I don't get to see them as often as I would like to...

My cousin Jono and Me

Like I said earlier, the perfect way to spend the very rare and rather wonderful British summer weather, is to go to the beach...

We went to Tolcarne Beach, as not only is it a lovely place, but it's also only a five minute drive from my Auntie's house.
We all had such a laugh, played with a ball (and accidentally hit a few people in the process...), and I actually sunburned... In England... Thankfully it wasn't bad, and actually turned into a nice tan after a day!

My Auntie, Uncle, Me and my cousin, Alex

My Uncle also decided to show off and dive for the ball, which didn't end so well!

The week also consisted of going swimming to the pool where my cousin works as a lifeguard, having picnics at the park, enjoying the scenic views of the coasts, taking a day trip into the city of Truro for a bit of retail therapy, and playing mini-golf; which I won! *punches the air in victory*

My Auntie, Me & Abby

I had such a great week spending time with my family and actually enjoying the wonderful weather we had! What have you been up to this summer? Let me know in the comments!

Birthday Haul!

In July, I celebrated my 17th birthday, which you can read all about in my Birthday Celebrations post here
I always love reading Birthday Hauls and seeing what other people got for their birthdays, as not only does it bring products to my attention, but also gives some inspiration for gifts I could get for my friends and family! I intended to do a haul of what I got for my birthday, but due to busy schedules and a lack of time, I unfortunately didn't write one... Better late than never though, because here it is!

Skincare

Starting with skincare, I got the Camomile Gentle Eye Make-Up Remover from The Body Shop. I use the Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil also from The Body Shop to take my make-up off before bed, and although it does an amazing job, it still proves difficult to remove all of my waterproof mascara. Since getting this product, I've been using it every day and it takes off all of my eye make-up without irritating my eyes!
I also got the both the Vitamin E Moisture Cream, and the Nourishing Night Cream. I previously used the Seaweed Cream also by The Body Shop, but I wasn't at all pleased with it and I felt like it didn't help my skin at all. After reading great reviews about the Vitamin E range, I gave them a shot, and I love them!

From my lovely friend Emma, I got the Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub, and I love it! As well as it smelling like candy floss, it's mainly sugar based and therefore edible, so it tastes like candy floss too! (Not quite sure it belongs under the skincare category, but we'll keep it here anyway.)

Body care

Moving on to body care, I'm a sucker for body butters and moisturisers... I'm not even joking when I say I have about twelve of them, yet I always seem to acquire more...
The Cocoa Butter range is my most loved range from The Body Shop, and I never get tired of it! I got both the body butter and the cream body scrub.
I also impulsively got the Pink Grapefruit Body Sorbet (not gonna lie, I bought it because it smells delicious). I'm not very keen on the consistency though, so I think I'm sticking with the body butters...

My amazing friend Alex bought me the Soap & Glory Birthday Box (see what she did there?) which contained a loofah (what a weird word...) a full sized Clean On Me shower gel, and a full sized Righteous Butter, which by the way is massive!! I've literally been using them every single day, I love anything Soap & Glory, so a massive thank you to Alex!

Make-Up

The first make-up product I got, and definitely my favourite, was the Naked 3 eyeshadow palette by Urban Decay! Words cannot explain just how much I love this palette...

I also got a blush from The Body Shop in the colour Bubblegum. I raved about another blush from the Body Shop in the shade Macaroon in my April Favourites post, and because I loved it so much, I got it in another colour!
I'd heard a lot of great reviews about the Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder, also from The Body Shop, and considering I was in need of a bronzer, I got it, and I've never regretted it! It's definitely a staple in my make-up bag!

Clothes

The "LOVE" T-shirt on the top left is from Next, the pineapple one from Primark, and the Aztec print top is from New Look. I have a thing for buying T-shirts, and every single time I go shopping, I always return with a new one... These are just a couple of my favourite items of clothing I got for my birthday.

Randoms...

Because I'm such a bookworm, it would be a crime not to get books for my birthday... My sister got me the Divergent series which I am beyond excited to start! My friend Emma got me An Abundance of Katherines by John Green, and because I absolutely loved TFIOS and Looking For Alaska, I was over the moon with it! The third (fifth if you count all the Divergent books) and final book I got, was The Geography Of You and Me from Becky. There is a slight story behind this present, as Becky and I are in the same Geography class, which is actually how we became friends! She thought the title was appropriate, and thus the reasoning for this particular book!

As well as being obsessed with books, I'm also obsessed with candles... My absolute favourite candle of all time is the Fireside Treats Yankee Candle, and as I'd burned my entire massive one, my Mum's friend Shelley got me a pack of mini ones which are beyond cute!
I also got a Pink Grapefruit and Lime candle from Sainsbury's, and it smells so citrusy and amazing, definitely one of my favourite summer candles!

Last but by no means least, stationary! I'd been browsing Paperchase with some friends prior to my birthday (I'm also slightly obsessed with stationary...) and I'd seen this adorable notebook. My brilliant friend Emma noticed this, took note, and bought it for me in secret... I absolutely love it and although I'm waiting to finish my current journal before beginning this one, I can't wait to use it! My favourite thing about it, is the fact the edges of the paper in the book are lined with silver paper! She also bought me some paper tape, which I've actually almost used up completely, for the ongoing project that is my scrapbook!

That pretty much sums up what I got for my birthday! I am completely over the moon with everything I got, and I absolutely love all of my family and friends for making me feel so special and spoiling me! I never expected all the lovely gifts I would receive, however some of these I purchased myself with birthday money I got from family and friends.

I hope you enjoyed reading my 17th Birthday Haul! Leave a comment and let me know something you've received for your birthday that you absolutely love!

Weekly Summary | New Beginnings...

To try and get in a routine of posting regularly, I've decided to start a new Weekly Summary series, where, as the title suggests, I basically talk about my week and what I've been up to.
Hopefully I'll be able to commit to this, as it's something I would absolutely love to keep on top of, but we'll just see how it goes...

This week has been pretty standard to be honest, Monday consisted of writing blog posts that will hopefully be up very soon, so keep an eye out for them, and I also spent an hour tuning my guitar...

Flashback to Christmas 2012, where a 15 year old Chloe decided she wanted to get a guitar and teach herself to play with the aid of YouTube and the internet... Fast forward to present day, where not only have I failed in teaching myself to play guitar, but I've not even tuned the thing...
With summer nearly over and my final year of Sixth Form approaching, yet again it's doubtful that I'll have the time to start learning, but a girl can dream...

Tuesday, however, was a more adventurous day. I went to Liverpool with Connor, and because it was such a great day out, I gave it an entire post of it's own which you can read all about here

That same day, luck was not on my side (possibly due to the fact I broke a mirror a few months ago...) and because I'm a klutz with no hand-eye coordination, I spilled Pepsi all over my laptop... Thankfully, after taking it to a repair shop the next day, it's only the keyboard that's knackered, and therefore my lack of spacial awareness hasn't costed me a fortune... *breathes a sigh of relief*

Thursday... AKA the day I've been dreading for months... Results day.

I'm not going into too much detail, but overall I'm happy with my results. There are some that I'm completely over the moon with, and others where there's room for improvement... To me, results day signifies the end of one chapter, and the beginning of another... The past year of my education is officially over, everything I've done is condensed down into several separate letters on a page, and in a few weeks the cycle will start all over again...
I spent the afternoon with my friends as we'd all arranged to pick up our results at the same time. We went for lunch and sat in the park, had a catch-up and talked about all things life.
When I got home, I was treated to my favourite Indian takeaway, and also some cute little presents my Mum and sister had bought me as a congratulations!

Friday, Saturday and Sunday were all chill out days at home, mainly spent chatting with friends, reading and listening to music (mainly the EP TRXYE by Troye Sivan, since its release on Friday I've listened to it non-stop!). Such an exciting life I lead...

I hope you enjoyed reading my first weekly summary! What did you get up to this week? Let me know in the comments!

A day in Liverpool

One of the things I love most about the summer holidays is having free time to spend with family and friends, as anybody who's doing A-Levels knows just how much time work takes up. Unfortunately, because I went to Egypt for the first two weeks of summer (which you can read about here), and spent the following week in Cornwall visiting my family, I haven't had any time to spend with my friends.
On Tuesday, however, I met up with one of my best friends, Connor, and we spent the day in Liverpool. As per usual, Connor was late, so during the forty minutes I spent waiting, I found myself in Lush (big surprise there!).

I absolutely love Lush, and couldn't resist the temptation of purchasing several of their bath ballistics and bubble bars. I ended up with a Think Pink ballistic, a Butterball ballistic, a Sakura ballistic, and the Brightside bubble bar.

Out of these, I've only ever tried the Think Pink ballistic, which I adore especially due to the confetti hearts it contains! I'm really looking forward to trying the other products I bought, as Sakura smells like cherry blossom, the Butterball is made with vanilla fragrances, and Brightside is more of a citrusy product and smells like zesty oranges!

I then found myself in New Look, and after browsing the sale section for a good fifteen minutes, I decided to buy a really cute printed top and a pair of denim shorts. I've been in need for some new shorts for a while now, and as soon as I saw these, I fell in love with them! The same goes for the top as well, but seeing as I've bought countless new tops recently, I was slightly more reluctant to buy it... A girl can never have too many clothes though!

Eventually, Connor arrived, and we both made our way to the cinema. I grabbed a drink from Costa first, and soon enough we found ourselves sat in the cinema watching Guardians of the Galaxy! Both Connor and I love Marvel, and it was a great film! The one thing that I loved about it, is the fact it was really funny! There were so many jokes that left me laughing ridiculously, and the rest of the cinema too! The action scenes were great too, although I do wish there were more of them... And more scenes of a shirtless Chris Pratt too for that matter...

After the film, we continued wandering around Liverpool, going in and out of various shops, where I spent even more of my money... I bought a new necklace from Forever 21, and also helped Connor pick out a new jacket!

We also went to McDonalds for a bite to eat, where Connor ordered nothing but three burgers.... Three! Boys...

Eventually, we headed to the bus stop, said our goodbye's and parted ways. All in all, it was a great day! I'm glad I was able to spend some time out of the house and with friends, and also able to have a good old catch up!

What have you been up to this week? Let me know in the comments!
