The Liverpool Diary | Part One

Time to switch things up a little...

It occurred to me today that I live in one of the UK's most cultured cities, in my opinion one of the best, yet I've never fully explored it. Liverpool is a city I've grown up next to, a city in which I now live and and go to University in, and it's about time I saw every corner and back alley of. And the best part? I'm going to write all about it...

Today, my friend Cerys and I decided to venture into town with no plan other than seeing the city and having a fun-filled day - let me tell you we definitely achieved that!
We went along Mathew Street, AKA where The Beatles kick-started their career in the famous Cavern Club. We poked our heads in every Beatles themed bar, pub and souvenir shop along the street, as well as going into the Cavern Club itself. The atmosphere was exciting with people dotted around the room engaging in conversation and drinking the day away, looking in many of the glass cabinets filled with signed memorabilia. There were a few other bars along Mathew Street that we're definitely going to explore more in the future! If you're a Beatles fan, get yourself to Mathew Street!

After our Beatles-filled morning, we headed to the Radio City Tower which looks over the whole city and is also home to Liverpool's most loved radio show. Paying £4.50 each to go to the top, we were subjected to breathtaking views from the viewing gallery. Looking from Crosby beach and Anfield Stadium all the way down to Sefton Part, it was amazing. There's no better way to take in the city of Liverpool from the top of the Radio City Tower.

Today proved to me just how much a city can hold, and I've taken it upon myself to explore all the wonders it has to offer, pretty much like a Liverpool bucket list!
Part Two coming soon...
