June Favourites

I know I say this every month, but I'm sorry, how the hell has June been and gone already!? Admittedly I'm quite glad to see the back of June, and my exams along with it, and seeing as it's my 18th birthday tomorrow; I always want July to hurry up and arrive!

Despite my last post in March, I haven't accumulated many new favourites... With exams on the brain and little time for shopping it's no surprise that very few new cosmetics have come into my possession!

My go-to foundation recently has been the L'Oreal Infallible Matte foundation (£7.99) which I love immensely! The coverage is lovely and conceals redness and blemishes really well, but doesn't feel heavy or cakey on the skin which is a great bonus! My only disappointment with this foundation is despite its claim to last 24 hours being shine-free, after a couple of hours I tend to find my T-zone gets a little shiny and oily. However saying that, I did manage to walk around Liverpool for seven hours on Friday in the heat without looking too sweaty or shiny!

Another new favourite is the Barry M Chisel Cheeks contour kit (£6.49), and I love it... With two bronzer shades and a highlight, the trio of powders has become my best friend for contouring and sculpting... I don't get much use out of the highlighter as due to my pale skin, the colour is hardly lighter than my skin tone... I love using the middle shade to give an overall bronze to my skin and use the darker shade to define my cheekbones and add extra dimensions! I'm looking to find a cream concealer kit so if you have any suggestions or recommendations I'd love to hear them!

I'm rarely seen wearing lipstick unless I'm getting dressed up for a night out, as I usually opt for a more natural look... After stumbling across the Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick (£4.99) in the shade 077 Asia, my feelings have changed! It's a dark nude colour with slight brown undertones which can be considered as one of those 'my lips but better' shades. It's a lovely colour for everyday wear, with a satin finish. It's very buttery and creamy making it a dream to apply, lasts for a heck of a long time and is comfortable to wear on the lips, not to mention is pretty damn cheap too... I'm obsessed with it...

Confession time - I'm a nail biter, always have been... It's a habit I've never been able to shake (apart from last summer when I managed to grow them! That is until sixth form began and the stress-biting began again). I'm pretty proud to say I've managed to stop once again and I love having long nails! One of my favourite things to do is painting my nails, and seeing as I finally had them long enough to paint without looking ridiculous, I went on the hunt for some new nail polishes! I've been loving the Rimmel nail polishes, especially the 60 Seconds Super Shine (£2.99) in the shade Instyle Coral, and the shade Bestival Blue from the Rita Ora range (£2.99). The colour payoff is lovely and they dry pretty quickly! Two coats is enough to build up an opaque colour and I've been wearing these colours for most of June!

Moving away from beauty favourites and onto music, I think I've listened to the album Talking Dreams by Echosmith a billion times... I'm officially obsessed... I think my favourite songs have to be Let's Love, Bright, and Come With Me... Actually, make that all of them! I've also been loving Greek Tragedy by The Wombats... The Wombats are a band I've never really listened to before but once I heard this song I fell in love with it...

That's all for my June favourites! I hope you enjoyed this post, leave me a comment letting me know what your favourites have been recently! Have you tried any of my favourites?

Breaking the Silence...

Hello again! It's been quite a while...
With my exams approaching I decided it would be best to solely focus on my studies and push blogging to the back of my mind, a decision which although I wasn't keen on, I knew would be best - especially seeing as nothing exciting would be happening during exam season anyway!

After five weeks and thirteen exams, my A Levels are finally over and I'm extremely excited for a three month summer! All in all I'm happy with how my exams went, and fingers crossed I've done well enough to secure my place at University in September! There's a long two months to wait until results day, but I plan to have a memorable summer in the meantime...

With exciting events and trips taking place over my summer, you'll be hearing from me a lot more than this past month! I even have a summer bucket list planned out - let me know if you'd like to see a post on it!

So, this is me, breaking the silence, and embarking on a wonderful summer!
