Picnics and Playing in the Park

What's better than taking a break from the stresses of life and reliving your childhood?

Last weekend was my amazing friend Emma's 18th birthday, and to celebrate she decided to ditch fancy meals and alcohol-filled parties, but rather have a picnic in the park with all of our friends! It was a lovely sunny day, albeit a little windy, and we found ourselves at a local park with a hell of a lot of food... We lay down some blankets, set out the food and began our feast! Apparently we weren't the only ones who wanted a bite to eat that day, as we had visits from several adorable dogs and puppies!

After the picnic and stuffing ourselves with food, we decided to let our inner ten-year old selves run wild and play a few games of football! I bet that didn't look weird at all, fourteen 18 year old girls having a kick about in the park... It was extremely fun, even if it did leave me breathless and gasping for air - note to self, go to the gym more! Our team won, and I played the role of an excellent goalie if I do say so myself... We also made human pyramids, played "stuck in the mud" and also a few games of sardines!

Once the fun was over and we were feeling a little worn out (we're not ten anymore after all!) we headed back to Emma's to continue the party in a more sophisticated way... Or so we thought...
After Emma opened her presents, we ended up playing wink murder, and making our death scenes as dramatic as possible! Forever the drama queens... I swear I thought someone was actually dying at one point... We then proceeded to play Heads Up - the electronic game of charades, which ultimately ended up with everyone screaming to the person guessing... It was a lot of fun...

It was the perfect de-stresser, as I've really been feeling the pressure of revision and exams lately. Having a whole day of forgetting your responsibilities and acting like a child was just what I needed, and am I crazy in saying I can't wait to do it again

What have you been up to lately?
